Where
the Lone Star Meets the Wild Rose...

When
a Texas cowgirl and an Alberta rancher get together, the
result is a charming blend of two cultures in an old west
setting. Head to Alberta's majestic Porcupine Hills... Canadian
Ranch Country at its finest. Nestled in the Porcupine Hills
on the eastern slopes of the Rockies is Brown Creek Ranch.
Brown Creek Ranch Vacations features a new totally self-contained
pine log cabin on a family-run working cattle ranch. Listen
to a gently rolling creek that runs just outside the cabin
and let country life surround you while taking you back
to a slower pace. Enjoy a self catered holiday or just unwind
in front of the fireplace. Perfect for couples, (honeymoons & romantic getaways) or families.
Your
hosts are Shaunere and Brian Lane and their four children.
From a long-time ranching family in the Claresholm area,
Brian spends his time running the Brown Creek cow/calf operation
and team-roping in his spare time.
Shaunere
hails from San Antonio, Texas and brings to Brown Creek
Ranch Vacations her own western cultural perspective. Involved
in the cattle part of the outfit along with Brian, Shaunere
also enjoys southwestern-style ranch cooking, working in
her yard and spending time with her family.

We have been enjoying a great summer here at the ranch with our family and our guests this year. We have had an usually warm summer this year and unfortunately a lack of rain which has been a bit difficult to deal with but I’ve managed to keep the grass green around the yards and the garden is still blooming. We were able to get our hay off in excellent shape, we did get two cuts this year as it’s under irrigation.

April 2006
We have enjoyed very much to stay in your wonderful cabin and to be part of your lovely family for a few days. We learned a lot - both about farming and cooking.
Love from Charlotte & Jorgen, Denmark

Thank you so much for such hospitality. What a lovely oasis on the prairie for a getaway. We will certainly return. Our heartfelt thanks for the trouble you went to for us. Warmest personal regards Cynthia
P.S. Love the slippers upstairs!
